Window Manager KDE

Hello,
I need to reduce the color depth of the Window Manager running in KDE 2.2.1 .

I have an application which needs a lot of colors and i want to reduce the color depth of the WM (this is possible in other WMs)

In KDE I can't find out wich WM is running ( ps -ax doesn't show me any running WM ) ,
Is there a tool in KDE to switch between WMs ?( In GNOME you can choose in the GUI the WM you want ...)

thanks in advance for your help

I think KDE runs it's own. But to reduce the color depth edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config (XF86Config-4 if you are using XFree4.x) and change the default color depth in there. The line should stick out like a sore thumb, if not, you could always run xf86config and change it that way.

There may be other, faster, easier ways, but that's probably how I would do it.

Cool
