IMO, you would be better off getting a modem with an ethernet connection. They are easier to set up and don't require drivers. Also it is easier for you if you decide to set up a home network.

Hmm. I haven't ever - ever connected anything through my ethernt card . Is it easy or what? The modem i mentioned says in it's datasheet : Linux : Limited RFC1483 routed . What does it mean ?

As long as your ethernet card is detected and installed by your distribution, it is very easy. It is simply a matter of connecting the 2 together.

I have done a little research and i found this

To be 100% sure dsl will work with my linux i have 2 buy a PPPoE (PPP over ethernet) with routing and not bridging ( I've read that bridging is somehow supported if i recompile the kernel which i am not ready to do).

Is ithis correct?

I am also looking at this modems too : http://www.intranet.gr/en/products/t...equip/adsl.htm (i am interested in jetspeed 500 one of course!)
