Wierd download

Hi,
Last night I tried to download Fedora 3 DVD(2092mb)...I used foxfire and Suse 9.2 for the download..All went well until I got to about 98 to 99 % of the download then i noticed that the download had a minus(-) sign in front of it and the filesize was decreasing instead of increasing..I thought this was strange so I watched it for about 15 minutes and sure enough it went from 98% down to 91% with no sign of slowing down..It was 11:30 PM and past my bedtime so I shut it off but I still can't believe my eyes....What Happened?..Does anyone have a clue????
PS this is the truth and I did not have a nightcap...strange stuff happening..I did not know a download could suddenly upload..
Puzzled,
jolphil

What filesystem do you use? Some filesystems have a limit on file sizes some being 2GB. If this applies to you perhaps you are experiencing some adverse reaction or something...

That has happend to me several times on XP but not with the minus symbol. Ive downloaded several things that show the progress going up and down like that but they have eventually finished.

Yeah,
I had that happen too but that was because the network speed changed and it required a longer time to download the file..
I am talking actually a (-) minus sign in front of the download and the filesize decreasing about 200 megs in 15 minutes or so..The download went from about 2.3 gig(2300mb) down to about 2.1g(2100mb)...
I saw another similar complaint in the Suse forum where someone else had used Foxfire to download a file..Could this be the common denominator?
