Why my SMDK6410 LCD screen not displaying anything

Hi,

I compiled the buildroot for zImage and rootfs.jffs2 for SMDK6410.
Used the linux kernel 2.6.35 and busybox 1.17. And deployed these two images using DNW. The kernel and rootfs loaded successfully and able to do execute linux commands from DNW but not from LCD screen.

I am new to the linux development and want to see a sample framebuffer / desktop application on the screen.

Could you please any one guide me for this issue.

Thanks,
tthrao

Are you on a laptop?

Do you mean that you can access the terminal, and do things from there, but if you try to start X Windows it fails?

Please provide more detail as to what exactly you did or tried, more or less what kind of hardware you have and what you are trying to accomplish.

Kind regards,

SMDK6410 LCD screen display

Hi Stefan,

Thank you very much, for your reply.
My hardware details are.

ARM11 Samsung S3C6410, ARM1176JZF-S
512MB NAND Flash, LCD/Touch Screen,
Ethernet, serial port

I tried startx, but it says commnad not found.
I found that xserver command exist.

I loaded the zImage and rootfs images using tftp command in DNW and then restarted. I got a linux command prompt in DNW. But I couldn't able to see anything on the screen.

My intention is to see something on the screen with touch screen capability.

Further more, is there any source or web site link for develop desktop, and also sdk for developing the desktop applcations.

Thanks,
tthrao
