Unhappy Why my rh7.2 so slowly?

My rh7.2 is running too slowly. But I don't know why.
When I login the system, KDE loading the window manager is too showly and after the desktop display,it take 30 seconds to display everything on the desktop.
And I must spend 35 seconds in openning the konqueror.
Someone can help me?

Check to see what services are running on your system, you might not need a half a dozen of what's running concurent on your system. Use top command, gtop for a graphical representation, whatever takes most of the CPU time it takes most of the resources on your system. Then come back here if you have a question about a specific service you want to disable/enable.

a shot in the dark, I'm probably way off on this one

could be a dns lookup error. I haven't ever used the KDE desktop so I'm not sure how it loads and what that all includes. KDE might be attempting to resolve your domain name on an interface like lo which might not be up for whatever reason, or your DNS server is timing out on your IP.

like I said, a shot in the dark, but its an idea

on this topic (and RijilV thats a good suggestion!!) how can u get KDE to run quicker....BESIDES removing services! are there any tweaks or tricks to gett it honkin'?

Also i noticed if u leave KDE running for 5-8 days it slows right down, now i suspect this is because it whacks everything into swap any ideas on that?

cheers
