Why do I get INIT 2.85 reloading while working

Hi,
I was working on my Red Hat EL 4 system from an user account on tty1, while the root account was logged into X. After 5 minutes of keeping the system idle in the user account I got this message
" INIT 2.85 reloading " and I got the prompt after hitting the return key. Is it normal? what happened exactly?

Well, the preinit cron-job re-executes init when it's finished. Maybe?
