Who ask for Linux?

http://sweetcomputing.com/index.php?wiki=AskForLinux

There are some good point there. I mean, Dell's customer feedback site has Linux filled nearly the whole of the first page, people should at least tell people at the store that you are using Linux.

Also check out Sunnz's efforts at PledgeBank and we all shall go ask for Linux one same day.

I often will casually ask a store worker if I can get a computer with Linux---or if XYZ product supports it. Sometimes I even get rational answers....

One project I would like to try one day is a survey of retailer responses to a few standardized questions. The only way to do this, however, would be to have enough helpers to do it alll in 1 day---thus not allowing the big chains to rehearse their answers.

If I ever buy a laptop (spousal resistance) I will go shopping with questions like: "If I must buy it with Windows, how do I get the refund?"
