Question which version to download

I will be upgrading my hardware from a sun based to Ibm based and also switching from a Unix based to a Linux based O/S. Which version of Linux should I download to start learning and is their a recommended course to follow im learning Linux?

Thanks

if you already know Unix, then you already know Linux.

if you are just getting your feet wet, then check out distrowatch and grab several of the LiveCD/DVDs out there and play around with them.
