which php-mysql rpm ? LAMP architecture question

I've got php 5.1.6 on my OEL (ie Red Hat Linux ) V 5 Release 4 box

I've downloaded the mysql community mysql packages. :-

MySQL-client-community-5.1.50-1.rhel5
MySQL-server-community-5.1.50-1.rhel5

when I try to load the package php-mysql-5.1.6-23.2.el5_3.i386.rpm I get the following problems :-

**************
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.15 is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-23.2.el5_3.i386
libmysqlclient.so.15(libmysqlclient_15) is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-23.2.el5_3.i386
php-pdo is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-23.2.el5_3.i386

******************

Shouldn't these .so's have been created when I loaded the mysql community rpms ? And what is the php-pdo rpm ?

Yours in anticipation,
jack
