Which mode to use for burning bootable iso?

I'm using cdrecord and I have a choice between tao and sao but I don't know which one to use to burn a bootable iso so I can use it to boot on my computer. Which one is better?

I have made bootable CD's with both modes. Some time when they came out with the new kernel (2.6?) they did something which did not adhere with the cdrecord programmer specs, and in TAO, there would be an over-run which renders the burned CD incapable of a valid md5sum. So, since then I have not used TAO for anything.

It may be fixed, I have no idea and have not checked in the last year.

Even when the CD cannot be md5sum checked, it still booted.

Maybe you are using too broad a google search. Try reducing the search to Linux-specific issues with topic-specific search engines from Google.

When you first start Google, click on Advanced Searches. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the topic-specific links.

For Linux, it's: www.google.com/linux.

It filters out 99%+ of unreleated web pages.

http://www.google.com/linux, search word 'cdrecord', turns up a wealth of reading material.
