Which linux on usb stick

Which live linux distro should I install on my usb stick?

Requirements:
USB no larger than 512mb
2.6 Kernel
Gparted
EASY to install to usb

I have tried SystemRescueCD. It would not boot.

Side question: Can fsck in 2.4 kernel check partitions that were created with 2.6, or vice a versa?

As far as those requirements, you could use DSL, Puppy or Austrumi. I don't know about the GParted, but it will not let you partition a drive that you are using at that moment anyway...

Note that your ability to boot from a USB pendrive depends on your BIOS -- if booting from USB is listed as an option in your BIOS boot sequence you should be fine. If not, check to see if you can upgrade your BIOS and that USB booting support is included
