Which Linux Distro to choose ?

Hi ppl,

I need help in choosing my distro. I've been using linux for 5 yrs but only with xwindows applications and main shell commands. (I know what /dev is and what hdparm is :P )

I started with Slackware, Used Redhat 7,8,9 but didnt like it. Switched to Ubuntu and loved that Synaptics packet management stuff.

Now I am creating a new system consists of 4 SATA harddrives which I will use Matrix Raid system. 250GBx4.
50GBx4 will be Raid0 in full performance mode. The rest will be Raid0+1 which is 2 Mirror 200GBx2 Raid0 partitions so I am targeting to use 600GB out of 1TB. (200Gb Raid0, 400Gb Raid1 in total). This system will be installed with Windows Vista on 200Gb Raid0 partition.

And also I wanna improve my Linux system administration skills. Like I wanna run my computer for days spent time configuring NS, Apache, RDBMS etc.

And I also want to have remote access like Remote Desktop and SSH to control my computer when I am not at home.

Yeah! I know I want too many things.

Some ppl say use RHEL. I LOVE Ubuntu because of easy of usage. I adore Slackware bec. of stability.

But what geeks here say ? I need your opinion.
Thanks

Use what feels best.

If you like ubuntu and slack you should give Arch Linux a try. It's like slackware with package management

You mean all distros have Remote Control, SATA Raid Support and Packet Management ?

I dont want to have a problem on using Raid disks.

Thanks.
