for nearly 8-9 years. Now it's running very very slowly on windows XP SP2 due to hardware overheat (memory usage & temperature always stay high), although I have cleaning up several times.
I have used Lubuntu, LXLE, Manjaro XFCE, MX 14.4, Bodhi Linux, Elementary but they're still burn my CPU & memory usage. I have used Puppy Linux too, but I don't like it & other linux distro related to Puppy Linux. I am looking for a lightning based Ubuntu distro come with pre-installed packages, that would allow me surfing the internet by incredible speed and no lag ; changing packages download servers (because my internet isn't fast) ; can installing ibus unikey for Vietnamese typing ; ... etc
What geeks here say ? I need your opinion.
Thanks very much.
That's similar to this computer and it's never going to be fast! The original AntiX (not the MX version) is about the lightest thing you're going to get with pre-installed packages (or without, for that matter).
As far as the internet is concerned, Firefox will be too slow whatever you use it with. I use Opera, and Midori should be faster still. For sites like newspapers, with a lot of odd bits and pieces, I still turn off javascript.

I have a Pentium 4 2.6GHz with 2GB RAM, and it runs full-fledged Slackware with KDE just fine. So I don't think you need to worry too much about the speed, maybe just overheating. Is this a laptop?
As far as I know, the first P4 3.06GHz was hyper-threaded, so my processor is only the stepping after yours and as you can see, lower frequency. So I think even more hearty distros would work on your computer if you can keep the temperature down.

A fellow AntiX member from Brazil with the same problem as you liked my suggestion as a cheap fix to overcome this.
On a laptop just place it under the bottom between desk and laptop base. On a Desktop just lay it or secure it
inside. Change it out every day. He said this year is brutal for heat in Brazil.
I live in 115F heat conditions myself in the desert. +1 suggestion from me for AntiX 15 32 bit Killah on that box with Debian stable repos enabled.
If you installed and already ran MX-14 like you said. A AntiX install steps is just the same as it uses the same installer.
I've done it on a Panasonic Cf-48 and changed the cpu from a P3 to a P4 while I was at it. It made a world of difference in temperature readouts in sensors command and acpi -t commands. On that laptop.
The thermal compound (cpu paste) had the consistency of dried cement
because of the old age of the laptop. The new artic silver paste I put
on after watching many youtube videos fixed that problem.
But for some folks. It is not a easy peasy thing to accomplish.
So I leave off mentioning it. Not wanting them to break their computer on my advise.
No amount of SW tinkering is going to over come that, I mean I guess he could manually edit clocks or install TLP the throttle the processor back but it's a P4 current atoms would smoke it.
