Which Linux Distro for building Preboot Authentication (PBA).

Hi all

I am trying to decide on which Linux distribution to use for Pre boot authentication software (Intel, AMD processors). This project is from scratch (I understand some might say use existing PBA solutions; answer is, can't :))

My requirements
PBA with minimal GUI; STABLE distro; minimal OS size; support for USB, mouse, key board and PC card to access internet; Intel, AMD processors.

Questions
1. Which Distro the experts recommend?
2. Would appreciate any other pointers from experienced PBA developers.

Thank you and appreciate your help.

For a minimal distro you could look for Slitaz 3.0
It has a GUI and an up-to-date kernel. The download is only 30 MB and you can ad missing apps for your purpose quite easy.

Have fun, Charles.

Thank you for the response.

If I started with a minimal Distro, adding hardware driver support from other Distros is fairly straight forward process right? I am guessing driver code can be moved and compiled across distros without much pain?
