actually, IMHO IE is the best browser out there. it's fast, and easy to design sites for (i'm a web developer). i honestly wish MS would port a version for linux.

its easy to design for cause it doesn't follow all the standards.. microsoft is trying to take over not OS's but the web too.. .NET, does that ring a bell.. oh well, no war's please. IE, I hate it.. I code my pages to W3C standards.... not to Microsoft IE standards.. the way its suppose to be coded...

i read an aritcle about when MS was trying and blocked all browsers and such from their sites or msn.com stating any browser that wasn't W3C compliant, it would be blocked.. but the funny thing was, one of the developers for Opera who is on the W3C board members (in which microsoft blocked stating opera wasn't standard) tested all 63 of msn.com's main pages.. only 3 came out to be totally W3C compliant.. go figure

I didn't mean to start a browser discussion, I just wanted to know what worked better for linux becuase netscrap sucks so bad on my machine. I'll be looking at new browsers now.

its fairly impossible to ask those types of questions and not get a million responses or discussions... its all good though.. gives you many ideas on what to try and what your options are..

I have tried them all, Konqueror, Opera, Netscape, Dillo, Touchstone etc etc.

IMHO, Galeon is the king, next is Mozilla.

Galeon uses, and depends on Mozilla (it uses the Gecko render engine component of Mozilla).

Current Galeon version 1.0.3 requires Mozilla 0.9.8. However, I have just uninstalled Galeon so as to play with the most recent Mozilla nightly and OMG it rocks! Render speed is definately way faster than any other Mozilla release!
