Where is "struct file" defined ? Not in fs.h !?

Trying to get at the internals of the file struct.

All references to this say /usr/include/linux/fs.h

In the RH9 distro and the RH8 distro, it is not there. Nor have I found it using more general search techniques. I have gone through include files for days now, and have not uncovered anything like the expected declaration, which has to exist somewhere but which is completely hidden.

I am going to try overriding the definition and compiling some dummy code with it in order to get the compiler to tell me where it is finding the definition. This may work, but I thought that I ought to ask this question and in the process point out that ALL the references back to fs.h are invalid.

respectfully
BJ
