Where do I start?


Below is a line from the README of rivatv-0.8.0. Still beign new to the workign of Linux and programming, I don't know where to start or what to do to check stuff in the kernal. I'm running SuSE 8.0.

If you have kernel source installed (usually /usr/src/linux) run
make xconfig
from this directory (from X). You'll see kernel options, between them those you need to check. If it's not set corrctly you need to compile your kernel...
If you're not using X you can use
make menuconfg

the stock SuSE kernel has those as modules already, so you shouldn't have to change anything.
