Where do I go from here?

Good mornin gang

Well; soon my site will be down and my internet too
I am still unemployed and can't pay my bills

I wish I could get a job in Linux somewhere, but it doesn't seem possible
Does anyone get paid in Linux? LOL

So, was wonderin how can I continue my Linux experience with no internet connection?
?

And, Does anyone know of a hosting site that would hold or distribute my creations
http://linux.softpedia.com/progMoreB...isX-31789.html

they will be deleted from servers in about a week

I only pay $7 a month for my site; but its $40 a month for internet connection.
I will try to keep my site up

OH; does any Member have a Wiki I could contribute to?
I have much to tell on remastering/booting,etc

So, I also want to Thank all Members here for their help and support!
This is obviously the best Linux community there is!

Jeez, this is sad news.. Any chance you could switch to dial-up temporarily? It sucks, but it's usually cheaper than broadband.

As for Wiki's to contribute to, there's the LQ Wiki and if you have some stuff to discuss which is not there yet, consider sending a few articles for that!

And, for hosting, maybe a free hosting provider is a temporary fix? I've used them in the past, and they aren't all that bad, but you must "shop around" to find one that will suit your needs, such as, how much stuff can you upload, etc.. It would be at the very least, a place to host your stuff, even if it came with ads and other limitations (but then, the ads are what makes the free hosting sites *free*).

I am currently looking for work too, but I doubt it will have anything to do with Linux but thems the breaks. A non-Linux job is better than NO job.

Best of luck Linux72 -- I think and hope we have not seen the last of you

Sasha

Yeah, that's bad. It would be a shame to see all the work you've done on your multidistros go to waste. Just try and get any sort of job you can, although that's not easy these days.

Hey Craig
Thanks
Why all the *?

Um, well most are around 300-600MB in size iso's

One would only have to hold it all till I got back on...

Hmmm; I actually have them all on my HD which is taking up alot of space

What do you mean by "Depends on resources required"?

You dont have to make them avail for download...

Actually; they would probably be out of date by the time I got back on...

maybe someone could put a few up on torrent sites like Piratebay?
I tried and I cant get it to work, uploading torrent

There is always security work. The pay is generally $8.50 to $15. But you are lucky to get more than $10 for an "easy" location.

Then maybe a 'bodyguard' job would be more appropriate

the Service, and I'm a furniture maker/cabinet maker by trade(though I wish to leave it while I have 10 digits

I can drive anything; pretty good on a PC, automechanic too; got 18 credits into a mech engineering BS
other than that I have no real "career", like a "jack-o-many-trades" I guess.

I had a small woodworking biz going in Tucson fore the economy crashed and I had to retreat back here to VA

I was making between $650-850 a day in AZ installing cabinets into new condos etc
those were the days...

Well, you've got a pretty wide range of work experience there. Trouble is, too many people after too few jobs at present. Same here in the UK.

If you were in the armed services, I wonder if you were serious about not being able to pass a background check.....

This aside, I expect that the reality of the job market is that many people will be doing things they might never have thought of.

For your storage problem, take a look at
http://www.adrive.com/

You can still participate at forums using a public library, no?
At least here in Belgium it's free.

Good luck with the job hunt.

Hey Linus,

Sorry to hear the work situation hasn't got any better for you.
Hope you you find something soon.

Further to Repo's idea,do you have an internet cafe locally?.
Perhaps you could take your laptop or use one of their machines?.

Just a thought.
