first of all, let me say: Good for you!!! php and mysql are awesome and i love working with them.
to be honest, i found the sam's teach yourself php4 in 24 hours was a great resource. it's how i learned and now i write the occassional article on php and mysql. once you move past that book (it won't take you long) then i would recommend Core PHP Programming. i also use the online resource http://www.phpbuilder.com/. they have a ton of stuff up there and also some great reading. as for mysql, when you're using php what you should really focus on is sql itself. php comes with all the necessary functions that make dealing with the mysql daemon itself very easy. just buy a short tutorial book (i prefer to buy books when it comes to programming since they're so much easier to reference frequently). good luck! :-) |
thank for the advices..I'll try to find this book..I dunno if it is available here in Riyadh(Saudi Arabia) I will try to search this in available bookstore..
