Hi, Please answer this question for me ASAP...

When a process locks up the system it creates an image and dumps the to the hard drive which can be used for debugging.
If not used, the file should be removed...

What is the name of this file?

you mean the core file? as far as i know, it's always named core. on linux tho, it doesn't always create core dumps on a default install. that's something that usually only programmers use.

Yeah, I'm really not sure - thay may be it...

Do the terms "resource file" or ".dbxrc file" mean anything to you in regards to my original question?

sorta... .dbxrc is a configuration file for the debugging utility dbx. "resource file" is a pretty generic term. it could mean a lot of different things.
