What Windows Manager is this??

running RH9, was using GNOME but i switched to fluxbox, and liking it

I was tyring to access another computer on my network using smbclient, but it wasn't working, but iv been able to access it in gnome (using nautilus)
SO in fluxbox, in put in the command 'nautilis'
My background changed to my gnome backround, and there are the icons on the desktop, but the rest seems to sitll like fluxbox.
But if i r-click, i get the gnome menu (new window/new terminal etc.)
but i have no panel and such, and have no access to my fluxbox menu

SO what windows manger is this? ANd how to i restart??

And what file manager do fluxbox users use...if they do. I havnt been missing one, just been workign w console, but it oculd be useful. I heard people sue the gentoo file manager, is it good?
thanks

Well, when you run nautilus, it starts some components of Gnome that it thinks should be running! Try nautilus with the "--no-desktop" option to disable this behavior for that session, and then, under prefs, find an option that says "use Nautilus to manage desktop", or the like, and de-select that option.

Yeah - it's close to starting Gnome backwards with fluxbox as the window manager rather than metacity. (You don't have to use metacity as your wm, but the usual method - I think - is to start gnome and change the wm settings in it and start it as normal after that.) I don't use nautilus but I was testing stuff out once and had the same thing happen - 'whoah, what the hell am I doing with all this stuff in flux?' 'nautilus --help' gave me the solution, as green_dragon37 said.

Going back to your other point, about which file manager to use, Gentoo (which, incidentally, has nothing to do with the Gentoo distro) is good if you like old-skool two panel file managers. But if you prefer Konqueror or Nautilus like file managers, give Rox a shot, I find it a great little fast file manager.

oh, and that thing about nautilus, i noticed that too. when u start nautilus, go to the top and u might notice that the gnome background has borders, titlebar, and handles, like a normal program. right-cl on the titelbar and do 'kill-client' and that will get rid of it. i know u already found a solution, but i just felt like shareing some extra info. it's funny cause, i thought i was the only one that this happened too.

srry for the double post. i hit backwards after i hit submit reply
