what to do if /etc/pam.d/login gets deleted!!


HI

I have mistakenly deleted,,,login file in /etc/pam.d

now i cant login,,,

well i used a command which i was being told to overcome this problem and tht is

vi /etc/pam.d/other

Pam_Unix
Pam_Unix
Pam_Unix
Pam_Unix

will this command help???,,, i tried but didnt seem to work,,

i dnt want to memorise the login file,,else i want to do in some way easier,,

appreciate ur help..

Hi,

Copy the following into a file and save it as /etc/pam.d/login

#%PAM-1.0
auth required pam_securetty.so
auth required pam_stack.so service=system-auth
auth required pam_nologin.so
account required pam_stack.so service=system-auth
password required pam_stack.so service=system-auth
# pam_selinux.so close should be the first session rule
session required pam_selinux.so close
session required pam_stack.so service=system-auth
session optional pam_console.so
# pam_selinux.so open should be the last session rule
session required pam_selinux.so multiple open


alternatively you can set the /etc/pam.d/other file auth requirement to pam_stack.so service=system-auth.
