What linux Magazine is best?
I'm trying to decide what magazine to subscribe for. I found several on the net but I'm not sure which one to pick (getting it over here is quite expensive so I need to make the right choise)
I've listed only four I could find, if you know a better one don't hesitate to let me know! Regards |
May I recommend our Magazine Review section?

Oeps, very good one!

Wow, I didn't even know we had a magazine review section. Kinda sparsely populated at the moment.
My two cents...the only ones I have bought (or read for that matter) in your poll are Linux Journal which I heartily recommend, and Linux Magazine which being European, seems heavily focused on Suse, which depending on your situation may be a good or bad thing. Not so great for me. My subscription bucks would go to Linux Journal...but I have no CC so I just buy it from the newsstand every month. |
linux format seems very beginner orientated.
edit: I am not putting it down, i think it is a great magazine and it does have some advanced topics in each issue. |
LXF covers newbies up to advanced users - there are explanations of terms, there are programming articles and news and views. Also has the LinuxPro mag with it and either 2-3 cds or 1 double sided dvd per issue. I think it's the best of the crop.

For someone on a slow dialup connection like myself, Linux Format's DVD is a real lifesaver. Their subscription rates for US customers are somewhat obscene, however, so I just buy issues containing software I need from my local Borders bookstore.

Thanx, I guess for me LXF would be a really good choise. The most expensive one to though. The dvd makes up a lot so let's subsribe!

I know none of these, my favorite is French(I live there): Linuxplanet....
It ships every 3 months, and is full of contents... |
I wish that I could get Linux Format. I can't pay with anything but USD!!Anyway somewhere near 90USD is way too much for me(only 13 issues!)

In India "Linux For You" is the only complete Linux dedicated magazine , so no more choice is there , PCQ delivers regular Quality Linux Stuffs..
