Im currently confused on what is the difference between "Red Hat Linux Enterprise 4" and "CentOS".
I was talking to a server admin and he says that CentOS is a great linux OS for servers. So I searched the net for some books, and I came across this link: linux-books.us/centos.php (no links allowed yet)
They have free CentOS books with permission. But when you open them, it says they are Red Hat Linux Enterprise 4 in the title.
Can someone explain if they are the same or different?
Does anyone here use it or support it? Have an opinion on it? So since theres no CentOS forum, if support would be needed would I ask in the Redhat section?
I believe cs-cam meant CentOS is RHEL with the proprietary software removed. In any case, most support could be asked here in the Linux - General forum or other related forums for issues that are not distribution specific. By doing this, you can call upon the experiences of all of our members in helping you. Also, please set the distribution in your profile or mention it in posts regarding support so that members may adapt their responses to suit your distribution.
