what is the correct syntax order for tar with --after-date DATE, --newer DAT

Hello

Can any one please tell me the exact syntax for tar with --after-date DATE, --newer DAT option.
I have checked it in few books, man pages, but it doesn't explain the order of the switches. Is there any place(web, book etc) which has good better documentation of shell commands than man pages and normal sys admin books
I did Google but could find reliable result.
The one I found messed up the tar filename

Regards
Fani

My read of the tar manpage is that the order of options does not matter. The best way to answer a question like this is to try it.

The man pages are normally pretty good about things like this---ie, if the order is important, it tells you
