What is the best software to backup dual boot XP(host) and Bactrack(guest) system.

Do you have any idea?...what is the best working software which could backup dual system.Host system is XP pro...and Backtrack on the second one.Is Acronis(xp based) will works?...Any suggestion?...

host and guest? That implies virtualization, not a dual boot. can you clarify what you're doing?

A good tool for backing up linux partitions is partimage, but it has to be run from a live-cd (systemrescue has it, for example) or a second Linux installed as backup system (much faster!). This is because the partition to be backuped cannot be mounted.

I do weekly partimage backups (to an external drive) of my data partition and a backup of my system partition before I do updates or change anything system wide. It has saved me countless times, because if you mess your system up, you'll have it back within 15 minutes.

I heard partimage can backup windows partitions, too, but it's still labeled experimental and I never tried it, as I haven't used windows since 2001 when I switched to Linux.

I assume you missused 'host' and 'guest' and have a normal dual boot system, right?

Yup!..sorry I think I messed it up.I have 2 system.My Game Rig ....is Win XP based since I got 3D game within.I install Virtual box,2 virtual systems; 1 Ubuntu & the other one is Backtrack 4.

My second system is my laptop,which is Ubuntu based.Since I newbie on linux.I just start to learn its repositiry.So could you recommend me the best back-up software for Linux? is it free?...it is better if you give the link how to use it.

As I said, use partimage, and of course it's free, it's gpl software.
