Assume you were a user on a restricted machine
that won't allow you to change aliases, and that
has /home mounted with no-exec ... you accidentally
un-tar'ed something, and need to delete it. Now, your
sysadmin is a paranoiac, and has globally aliases
rm with rm -i ... and since you can't unalias it, or write
a script ... yes may come in quite handy for all those
confirmations ;)
yes | rm -f *
