What format.

I was thinking about getting a external HD to store MP3's and videos so I can access my mp3's if t'm in linux or in windows is there a format that both OS's see I know FAT 32 doesn't work so I doubt FAT 16 works and the standard linux one doesn't either.

Ideas ???

Why FAT32 won't work? Linux has no problem seeing FAT32 partition, that's only windows that can't access linux partitions.

Like neo said, fat32 maybe your only good option if you want windows and linux to be able to see the drive. Windows sucks at seeing anything non fat or ntfs....

FAT32 is the ONLY filesystem that can be reliably shared in read/write by both Windoze and Linux.
