Question What does anyone know about the CoC scandal and what does it mean for the Future?

I just got into immersing myself into the Cinnamon Mint desktop Distro, and with whatever supposed, "Code of Conduct" that people are talking about being implemented right now potentially ruin Linux itself, should the Main Guy Linus himself decided to pull copyright claim for his work alone. Should I be worried about a potential setback in the updates/downgrade in quality of my distro alone in the near future or what? What does this mean exactly for the future developments of the Linux code? If it is an end, what is one expected to do from then on? I mean I myself have been following developments on a small Kernel Called ReactOS which may be spared, but what for every other Linux Distro?

All the GNU/Linux code, as far as I know, is under the copyleft, MIT, or similar, & is freely usable by anyone under that, so there should be no problem keeping the kernel going, it has many other coders that understand the principle under which it was created & continues to be updated.

Linux won't disappear.

There's a thread about Linus's temporary "retirement" that deals with this whole issue. Do we really need another one?

I'm simply unaware of both matters, Question was posed in pretense anyone would be able to officially elaborate on the situation. But f there is one already, feel free to link it to me here, because, until I posted this up now, which was when I had also caught wind of the situation, I had not located/seen directly where the subject matter was ascertained to. Sorry.

Uh, heads up that "pretense" was definitely not the word you wanted.

"Question was posed in the hope anyone would be able to officially elaborate on the situation" would have been more in line with what you wanted to say.
