Would you switch form what DE you use to E17? |
No, I won't switch, but not because I think E17 is bad, but because it does not resemble my style of usage. I will have a look into it for a future hardware project involving a touchscreen, where my current style of usage (I prefer tiling WMs and mouseless usage) simply won't work, but I still need something lightweight.

I like it.
I also wouldn't switch from Fluxbox, but I'm quite happily using e17 on my Mint 13 machine. It has a few quirks that I'm still puzzling out, but I've been running it for several weeks now and will probably continue to do so. Once feature I particularly like is that you can set separate wallpapers for the various workspaces. By the way, this particular computer has a touch screen (it was designed as a graphics tablet) which works just fine under Linux. |
I haven't tried the latest version, but I've always found the configuration tools confusing: at AtlasX they say "If you don't know the meaning of a particular setting, don't touch it." The documentation is useless.
But I must admit it's the prettiest GUI for a small computer. |
it impresses me: e17 uses very few resources, besides all eye-candy - I'm using it right now, on a Acer Aspire One 110L Netbook, and all is very smooth :)
