what are the files written by linux OS while running


Hi
I am creating ram disk and I want to know what are the files which will be written by linux OS while running. I found out /var/log , /var/run/ /proc
please tell me any other files which will be written. Can any one tell me where can I found out this. What i found out is , in /etc/syslog.conf
is a file where the list is given. but I need more if kernel is adding to.

everything in /proc is a realtime depiction of what is going in the system at the moment you take a peek into the dir.
