Weird problem

I have this really weird problem. I have a bare-bones slackware 8.0 system, that I'm using as a Samba fileserver. It works great, up until I unplug the monitor and the keyboard. I want to stick the box under my desk without a keyboard and monitor attached. But as soon as I unplug the keyboard and monitor, I can't ping the box anymore. And then when I plug in the monitor and keyboard, all of a sudden I can ping it again.

You may wish to look at your pc BIOS settings.

Keyboard: none
Halt on no errors

Works for my servers...
Rgds.
