Weird, file names changing case after restore...
Hello all,
I'm running the latest CentOS on a test box, and I recently had to recover the partition it exists on (the OS runs alone on that partition). I used Partimage on a restore CD to overwrite the OS partition with a backup image. Now what seems to have happened is that a different partition, on a different disk that is mounted to this Linux instance seems to have had file names and directory names change case from upper to lower in some instances. Not all. I would like to know if anyone has ever heard of such a thing happening? This seems extra ordinarily peculiar to me. Thanks, S2 |
What type of partition is the one with the case changes files? Ext3, FAT32, Other?

btmiller, thanks for your reply, but after looking at this further I'm now pretty sure the problem isn't with my Linux installation. It's more likely that some software I installed made the changes I mentioned.
Thanks for your help thought. |
