What do you want to do?

I just want to know what applications I can use with my new web camera other that cheese?

Kopete and aMSN will allow you to chat with a webcam.

wxcam allows you to see and record the output.

I use motion with my webcam as a security camera (it records snapshots and video when it detects motion). There's also zoneminder for this sort of functionality, though motion appears more straightforward to use (no GUI, but simple config file).

For messing about, I think cheese has the greatest number of features.
