Web browsing...
Hi all,
I have just successfully installed red hat linus on my system. I have been unable to do the following on my system ever since
-Browsing the web (check my mails, send mails etc)
-Using my printer and scanner (could not install the software)
-very importantly, I do not know how to get to use the command line interface (as opposed to the GUI).
Please help. I will appreciate it if the questions are answered individually.
Thank you.

command line is accessed via the console.
What problems are you getting with browsing and printing. Can you supply more details of your system and any errors.

I cannot link the internet at all and I could not use my printer. Obviously, I need to install the software for the printer git whenever I insert the CD, the content of the CD just get displayed and I cannot go further. Installing software in Windows is much more straight forward but I ma determined to perfect the use of Unix.
Thanx.

Do you have any book about Red Hat with you. If you do read it. If you dont then go buy one, something like Red Hat Linux unleashed is good.
This will teach you some basic things about linux that you HAVE to know before going further. In the meanwhile you can browse the web for Linux help for begginers until you get the books.
To make you printer work you don't need any software, you need to configure Linux to recognize and use it, but if you don't know anything about Linux, you obviously can't configure it. So i suggest reading a book or online help, and in a couple of days everything will be clearer.
