warnings when compiling kernel
Hi,
Is it normal to get compiler warnings while compiling the kernel? I'm running redhat8.0, and upgrading from 2.4.28 to 2.4.20-2.25 (the rawhide distribution of 2.4.20) While compiling, I continually get the following warning: /usr/src/linux-2.4.20-2.25/include/linux/sched.h:559:1: warning: "cpu_online" redefined /uar/src/linux-2.4.20-2.25/include/linux/smp.h:87:1: warning: this is the location of the previous definition I'm using the gcc that came with 8.0 (gcc 3.2). Any thoughts? Thanks, Don |
I can't speak to those particular warnings.. but YES.. it is very normal to get warnings when compiling a kernel. Not ERRORS, but WARNINGS.
