Well, good!
Pick up a distro, let's say slackware :-) and read around slackware.com
Install it, work with it, play, listen to music, watch some grate movies...

LQ is the best website...;) If you MUST try something else, try http://tldp.org

But first, install Linux and start using it. I recommend the Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mepis, family (all based on Debain)

Anything in the top ten on the "hit list" at http://distrowatch.com will be fine.

I have to push Slackware too, I installed it with literally zero knowledge of Linux this past Christmas and now feel extremely comfortable with how Linux works. HOWEVER, my big disclaimer: prepare to spend a LOT of time on the internet and especially on LQ (I found answers to nearly all my questions here); make really good friend with google; and try to have another "backup" computer with an internet connection. Good luck with your Linux experience, I hope it's as positive for you as it was for me! :D

Indeed. All distros lead to Slackware. Might as well save time, eh? :)

Here's a beginner, intermediate, advanced class...entirely online.

http://www.linux.org/lessons/

And there are lots of free ebooks here. Look under Unix/Linux and then Core Linux for some books.

I am going to push Vector Linux, since it's very fast, easy to install, and works out of the box with things like Java, Flash, etc.
