VSFTPD: Download resume?

Hi guys,

i am using vsftpd for my ftp server needs. My users are complaining they can't "resume" download when it drops connection.

I do believe this is client-dependent... but is there anything I can do to alleviate the situation?

thanks

I don't have anything special in my config, resumes work fine for any client my users have tried.

Sounds to me it's not a software problem but a problem that's between the chair and keyboard.. ;)

hahaha! i'm pretty sure its a software rather than the server issue, but just had to check...

the user is from phillipines.. so i think his connection is just poor...
but why can't they resume... not sure how to help him from where I am too hah!

You could download a large file yourself and unplug your cable before it is finished. Then see if your client's resume download works. If so, at least you checked and you verified that the problem isn't at your end.

Hi guys sorry to revisit the problem after so long...
but i realise my ftp client is showing a:

502 Command REST not allowed by policy.

I have already tried removing firewall and allow all traffic and such etc...
my logs don't show anything...

and this is if i use a remote connection
if i have a direct connection to the server, ftp is fine to resume.. is there somewhere i can toggle this?

Updates: I realise I can resume using SFTP but not FTP.
Any particular reason?
