VNC Server

I've got VNC Server running upon startup in debian..with KDE desktop...logging in as root, but.. when i try to login as user it does not startup.

Do i need to use the su command ?.. Or some other command that i am not aware of. Also, if need a command.. where would that be placed.

PLEASE HELP?????

Which client are you using to log in to the VNC server?

Vncserver runs as the user who starts it. So if you start it as root, you'll only be able to access as root. If you start it as a normal user, you'll access it as a normal user. If multiple users start their own vncserver, each one is assigned a different monitor. So the first is :1, the second is :2 ..... and those correspond to the port 5901 and 5902.

Actually, i'm looking for it to auto load upon startup.... it auto runs logging in as root, but not user.

Ah. That's a different problem entirely. You'll have to do a bit of research on su and sudoers. Su is the command that lets you run a program as another user. If I remember correctly, if you call su from root (like you would on boot), you don't need to supply the password to run a program as a regular user.

I'll do a little reasearch on it then.
