VNC question
Is VNC a single user type server, meaning if I run it on a machine and try to connect am I the only one who can? Or is it more like Citrix where multiple users can connect to the same virtual desktop without interferring with each other?
you create a virtual desktop on the server which anyone with correct permissions (password) can connect to, in an "interfering" manner. The connection is not create on an adhco per client basis. you will manually start 5 copies of the server in order to have 5 different desktops...

ah so techinically it can be done.....we have people looking to not buy citrix licenses to run some x-windows GUI's. I originally just said to run them locaaly from the server to their own desktops but you know how peeps are. They want a server that users can pull a desktop up from to connect to another server and run an x-app.
yes, that's about the size of it. i'm sure you could hack together some form of automation to start and stop each server instance if you really needed to.
