vmware and compaq ipaq

Using vmware i have a virtual win 98 on my Suse 7.2 system. recently i acquired a compaq ipaq that i use a great deal. As it runs pocket pc it isn't linux compatible so i was wondering if anyone has ever managed to get it working with vmware. By the way it's a serial model not usb!
Any advice much appreciated!
