Virtual video card?
Maybe this is completely stupid, but I have an idea and would need something like this to accomplish it.
Does anyone know of (or how I would do it) to make a virtual video card. Virtual being a video driver that would write to a file instead of the address mappings of a video card. Then I'd be able to load a x session with this and instead of it showing up on my monitor I'd get a file that a program could read. Possibly I may not be wording my question properly. Thanks. |
I understand what you are after. Not sure if it can be done. Closest thing to a virtual interface I know of is this. http://www.xfree86.org/4.0.1/Xvfb.1.html
Not sure if the /dev can be saved to a file or not. Brian |
