Virtual Hosting, Resolving & Redirecting URLs

Hi All,

I have one static ip address and I would like to be able to resolve and port forward based on the url name. Let's suppose my domain's ip address is 1-1-1-1. I have to use dashes instead of periods or else this message is blocked from being posted. In the following example, dashes are suppose to be periods.

For example:
mydomain-com = 1-1-1-1 ip address in this example.
www-mydomain-com translates to 1-1-1-1:8080

products-mydomain-com tranlsates to 1-1-1-1:8080/products

sales-mydomain-com translates to 1-1-1-1:8080/sales

I'm running Red Hat Linux 9 with Tomcat on port 8080. Can this be done? Any help would be appreciated.

This is all done with Virtual Hosts on your server and creating the correct IP to Name associates on the DNS server...
