View Source - How? Opera / FedoraCore3
Hi
I have a mirrow website and up to now have always just viewed the source of the company updated page. Then copy it as my new index file, ad my modifications, upload it onto the internet. Now I'm no longer in Windows, I'm working in my Linux partition. This time when I pressed VIEW, then SOURCE the option to select xedit (don't recall the exact spelling of the word, but that was most probably it) appeared. When I still couldn't see the source code I replace xedit with gedit (because I'm aware that gedit is one of the Linux editor on my computer). Now when I select VIEW, then SOURCE, nothing happens. Trying to learn this stuff. Meanwhile, please let me know how to view the source code. You can set the source viewer in the advanced preferences tab...

Hi
Thank you. That was fast reply. Could you say some more on this please. I clicked on TOOLS, then PREFEREANCE, then ADVANCED and still I'm going through the options searching for anything that looks like source viewer. Haven't seen it yet. Tj |
Sorry. It's in the 'programs' options of the advanced tab... You can select the source viewer there. Check that you have gedit installed and so forth. I use kedit myself if using opera.

Hi
I see it now. Thanks. This is the current file name showing: /home/Tj/Desktop/WebSite/index.html. When I select that by clicking on the CHOOSE button, the contents of that folder shows. Thats the only option. Is something esle supposed to be happennng? Tj |
So, how do I view any page source code? I select VIEW then SOURCE, but the curser moves to the "Find Next" (or the "Find in page search") menu.
Please let me know how to view it. Thanks TJ |
