video streams in firefox...

ive been trying to view some videos wiith firefox. they are embedded realplayer files. i got the "plugin" for realplayer, installed realplayer itself, and tried to edit the mime types in browser. non of this works.

what do i need to do in order to be able to view embedded vidoe in firefox, specifically realplayer files? or is this possible?

preferably, id like to use something other than realplayer, such as mplayer, totem, xine...if thats possible.

thanks in advance.

edit: i wasnt sure if this thread would go in general, networking, or software.
mods can make sure it gets where it needs to be, and ill remeber for next time

If you have the Realplayer 8 you can get video streams to work in Firefox with these codecs http://realforum.real.com/cgi-bin/un...=5&part=1&vc=1 (works for me). It should also be possible to install codecs in the Mplayer that will allow the mplayerplug-in to show real video streams in Firefox (I've never tried as I don't need to)
