Video editing program wanted including fading from one clip to another

It's been a LONG time since i needed to edit video (including fading). I was wondering if anyone had a program that they use (Besides Cinnerila) for that kinda thing. I'm also looking for audio overlay and the ability to "mend" 3 clips together.

I used windows the last time (Movie maker I think the program was called) and was wondering if maybe there was a Linux equivalent, or maybe a couple of programs that could be the equivalent?

I'm running Ubuntu Ibex (8.10) with 512 or 768 Megs of RAM on a 1GHZ AMD CPU.

ffmpeg - all those others are just front ends for ffmpeg. There are loads of tutorials for video editing with ffmpeg.

Cinerella, Kdenlive, kino. I don't think that ffmpeg can do fading.
