am i doing it right?>

the only thing i can think of is the wrong distro or maybe corrupted download or burn...

Am i suppsed to use this?
Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-DVD.i586a
1.99 GB (2,147,483,647 bytes)

ctkroeker 07-17-2005 01:09 PM

Looks fine, but that DVD looks really small, only 1.99GB, should be more like 3.5GB or something like that.

http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=29

says 2047... am i a lil short?

ctkroeker 07-17-2005 01:31 PM

Could you maybe re-download it and burn it again?
I don't recommend using Mandriva (bloated, to much junk).

ok i tried unbuntu lol... and that P.O.S keeps shutting my mouse off... it only lets me click and it opens clock properties and thats it... i try to alt my way to help or something and it doesnt work.
And sometimes it completly shuts my keyboard off also... then i gota wiggle back there and replug them all >.<

same thing with the live cd.... how do i fix it ? :(

marsques 07-18-2005 04:19 PM

well you can always try slackware, which is virtually bloat free... www.slackware.com...

unkn0wnhacka 07-18-2005 10:43 PM

too much learning....

how do i fix my mouse please? i have a GE optical mouse.

floppywhopper 07-19-2005 12:14 AM

if you are having all those problems then perhaps you should tell us exactly what hardware you have
Mobo, processor, ram, vid card, snd card etc etc
are your keyboard and mouse PS2 or USB or wireless

If Mandrake and Ubuntu and the live CD are giving or appearing to give problems then it may be a hardware issue

floppy

unkn0wnhacka 07-19-2005 01:16 AM

i dont have floppy drive.. everything has worked before but i recently bought this new mouse.... how do i make it so it works??> its a GE optical mouse... my other hardwre is fine.

ethics 07-19-2005 04:34 AM

i think floppy was him signing his post....

like he said ,post your hardware specs, it can't hurt, hit your mouse manufacturers website, maybe they have a solution.

can you get hold of a normal PS2 mouse? try that if it works then the prob will be your mouse or USB port (i presume it's USB?)

unkn0wnhacka 07-19-2005 01:00 PM

its not usb and i dont have anymore mice :(

no point in posting my hardware... its my mouse.
