UT2003 - anyone know anything about libpthread?

I've installed UT2003 - although when it runs I get:

Backtrace:
[ 1] /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0 [0x40d67e55]
Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.

What could be wrong with libpthread.so.0 ?

The guys in the UT2003 forums think that Mandrake have done something with libpthread - what does it do wrong? Is there any way of fixing this?

By doing ls -l /lib/i686/lib*

I get the following

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1167240 Aug 19 11:17 /lib/i686/libc-2.2.5.so*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13 Oct 6 09:23 /lib/i686/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.2.5.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 137780 Aug 19 11:17 /lib/i686/libm-2.2.5.so*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13 Oct 6 09:23 /lib/i686/libm.so.6 -> libm-2.2.5.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 82748 Aug 19 11:17 /lib/i686/libpthread-0.9.so*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 17 Oct 6 09:23 /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0 -> libpthread-0.9.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 26568 Aug 19 11:17 /lib/i686/librt-2.2.5.so*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14 Oct 6 09:23 /lib/i686/librt.so.1 -> librt-2.2.5.so*

Maybe you can search and download a new libpthread and install that one over the existing one, but in case the existing one was modified replacing it might make other programs segfault.
