/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpugixml

Hi,

I have the following error: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpugixml

I downloaded and compiled the library pugixml and I have the library file libpugixml.a

How do I solve the problem?

Thank you.

Which is your command line? Do you compile using gcc directly (or any other C compiler) or do you compile with make? Normally the -l option is used in conjunction with -L to specify the path where the library resides. Being a static library, option -static could make the difference. BTW without knowing what you're doing I can only guess.

May be a shared library is required ?

Edit pugixml/scripts/CMakeLists.txt , line 5 to :
add_library(pugixml SHARED ${SOURCES})

cmake . && make : libpugixml.so is created.

..
