Using the talk daemon

I have the talk daemon available on one of our servers, and my intention is to use it to communicate with people who are logged into the machine.

The question I had is the following: As long as I talk to those who are logged into the localhost, there is little or no security vulnerability of which I need to concern myself. Correct?

Assuming that the users have limited permissions, then yes.
